Roy Torres, born and raised in Villa Colón, San José, began his path in tourism as a taxi driver, where his natural charisma and improving English allowed him to connect with travelers exploring Costa Rica. Inspired by their curiosity and his own love for the country, he soon started guiding visitors personally, proudly sharing Costa Rica’s landscapes, wildlife, and rich culture.
Over the years, Roy built a respected career based on dedication, reliability, and exceptional service. His commitment led him to spend more than 25 years with two of Costa Rica’s most renowned luxury properties, The Peace Lodge and The Springs Resort & Spa. During this time, he developed a reputation for leadership grounded in professionalism, hospitality, and genuine respect for the land and its people.
Returning to what he enjoys most, personal connection and meaningful service, Roy founded Paraiso Travel alongside his daughter, Isabella. Raised in the world of hospitality, Isabella shares her father’s values, integrity, and passion for creating memorable travel experiences. Together, they continue Roy’s legacy, offering journeys that combine authenticity, warmth, and excellence, making every visitor feel truly at home in Costa Rica.
